Bonnie Shucha is the Deputy Director of the UW Law Library where she helps coordinate library operations, personnel, and technology and supervises public services including reference, instruction, circulation, and document delivery services for the UW Law School and campus communities. Ms. Shucha also selects material for the library collection in several topic areas and serves as the Law Library's Federal Depository Library Program coordinator.Ms. Shucha has presented and published extensively on library and law-related technologies, including contributing several chapters to the seminal legal research treatise, Fundamentals of Legal Research and several articles to the Law Library Journal. She is also the creator and author of the UW Law Library blog, WisBlawg, which provides legal research news and advice with an emphasis on Wisconsin.Ms. Shucha received a J.D. from the UW Law School, both a M.L.I.S. and M.A. in History from UW-Milwaukee, as well as a B.A. in History from UW-Eau Claire. Her research interests focus on the history of prostitution and public policy in Wisconsin.Ms. Shucha is an active member of the American Association of Law Libraries where she served as chair of the Computing Services Special Interest Section and co-chair of the Publishing Initiatives Caucus. She is also a past president of the Law Librarians Association of Wisconsin.When she's not at work or school, Bonnie is mom to a busy 16 year old son and 13 year old daughter. Her husband is a lecturer at UW Richland and is pursuing a PhD from UW Madison. She enjoys reading classic and fantasy novels, playing with her two miniature dachshunds, and relaxing at the cabin with her family.
