Barbara Bean became a law librarian in 2004 and teaches first year and Advanced Legal Research. She is admitted to the Bar in New York and California. She practiced in New York City and Los Angeles, where she was a banking and corporate finance attorney for Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy and O’Melveny & Myers. She also served as U.S. Counsel to the Netherlands law firm of DeBrauw Blackstone Westbroek. Following a seven year interlude in Moscow, Russia during the period after the collapse of the Soviet Union, Ms. Bean went to library school at the State University of New York at Albany and moved to Michigan after earning her MSIS degree. She is a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center and Vassar College.
